What is an osteochondroma?

Osteochondroma, the most common benign bone lesion, is a painless, slow-growing osteocartilaginous exostosis (i.e., cartilage-capped bony projection). Boys are affected more often than girls (2:1). Growth of the lesion continues until the growth plate closes.
