How is a multipartite patella differentiated from a fractured patella on radiographs?

Bony nonfusion (associated with bipartite or multipartite patella) is most often seen along the superolateral margin.
Patella fracture fragments fit together like puzzle pieces; bones of a bipartite or multi-partite patella have more rounded margins and do not fit together.
