Lytic stage: candle flame or V-shaped lytic lesion involving the epiphysis and progress-ing toward the diaphysis
Sclerotic stage: expansion of bone with thickening of the cortex and sclerosis
Mixed stage: cortical thickening with mixed lytic and sclerotic areas
Other findings: banana fractures (i.e., small pathologic cortical fractures along the convex border of bowed long bones), osteoarthritic changes, early thickening of the iliopubic and ilioischial lines, coarsened trabeculations of the sacrum and ilium, acetabular protrusio, vertebral body enlargement, and ivory vertebrae
