An autosomal dominant disease characterized by multiple usually sessile osteochondromas. The knee, ankle, and shoulder are often simultaneously affected. Patients may have severe growth abnormalities as a result of the multiple lesions, and as many as 20% of patients undergo malignant transformation to chondrosarcoma.
