What are the radiographic features of metastatic bone tumors?

The appearance usually reflects the aggressiveness of the primary tumor, although metastases may appear quite benign. The lesions may be lytic, sclerotic, or mixed. Involvement of the vertebrae, especially the posterior elements, may be seen. Pathologic fractures are common.
