How is CT performed for evaluation of possible renal mass?

Noncontrast images are obtained through the kidneys.
Subsequently, scans through the same levels are performed during the nephrogram phase (~ 100 seconds after injection);
5-minute delayed scans through the kidneys assess for deenhancement of lesions or calyceal diverticula. All scans performed are 4 mm or less.
