Diagnostic: trauma, vascular disease, neoplasia, hemorrhage, dissection, vasculitis. Diagnostic indications are limited today because of advances in CT and MRI. Indications that remain are patients who undergo percutaneous interventions, and those suspected of having vasculitis.
Therapeutic: angioplasty, embolization, selective drug therapy
