What are the radiographic manifestations of near-drowning?

The CXR may be normal, especially in children, if laryngospasm (the diving reflex) occurs. Otherwise, a pattern of pulmonary edema with batwing shadows is seen. The clinical situation may be complicated by the development of ARDS.
