When should ultrasound be used in the workup of mullerian duct anomalies?

Ultrasound is indicated when uterine obstruction is suspected (e.g., vaginal agenesis, bicornuate uterus [may have obstruction of one horn]). Ultrasound may distinguish the anomaly and should be the first imaging procedure ordered when these conditions are suspected.
