What is redistribution?

Redistribution also only occurs with Tl-201, and it is actually a misnomer. Tl-201 exits the myocardium more slowly from ischemic segments. Therefore, on delayed imaging, the more rapid exit of Tl-201 from the normal segments results in equilibration among the normal and abnormal segments, giving the appearance of redistribution.
