How is a captopril renogram performed?

Tc-99m MAG3 is often the preferred agent. The study may include only a dynamic scan following ACE inhibitor administration, or it may include a baseline study (i.e., a half-dose of tracer followed by administration of the ACE inhibitor and a study with a full dose of tracer). The patient should be hydrated prior to administering the ACE inhibitor, and the patient’s blood pressure should be monitored throughout.
