How are the results interpreted?

Washout of half of the radioactivity in the collecting system within 10 minutes of injecting the furosemide is normal and consistent with a dilated, unobstructed system.
Washout occurring 10 to 20 minutes after the injection is indeterminate, and washout occurring more than 20 minutes after injection indicates obstruction.
