What are the phases of a normal dynamic study?

Blood flow phase: The first 30 to 60 seconds after the injection of the radiopharmaceutical. This is the phase when the agent arrives at the kidneys.

Cortical uptake phase: 1–3 minutes after injection of the tracer. This is the phase when the agent is most intensely concentrated in the renal cortex.

Clearance phase: Beginning after the cortical phase, this is the phase when the tracer is cleared from the cortex and excreted into the collecting system (i.e., the renal pelvis and ureters) and eventually the bladder.
