What is a superscan?

Diffusely increased osseous uptake
Relatively decreased bilateral renal uptake (be suspicious of a normal-appearing bone scan with faint or no renal activity)
Comparatively low activity in the soft tissues
Higher uptake in the axial skeleton than in the appendicular skeleton
Subtle heterogeneity in the uptake pattern, particularly in the proximal femurs
