What is an hysterosalpingogram (HSG)?

A fluoroscopic procedure with images of the pelvis taken after injecting contrast material through the cervix and into the uterus and fallopian tubes. Normally, contrast fills the endometrial cavity (U) and freely spills into the peritoneal cavity (P) through the patent fallopian tubes (T).
