Describe the glenohumeral joint.

The humeral head articulates with the glenoid labrum and the cartilaginous covering of the bony glenoid fossa of the scapula. Three glenohumeral ligaments hold the humeral head in apposition. In the normal AP projection there is slight overlap of the humerus and glenoid.
