What are the pelvic columns?

The anterior (iliopubic) column runs obliquely inferoanteriorly and medially from the anterior part of the superior iliac crest to the public symphysis.
The posterior (ilioischial) column runs inferiorly from the angle of the greater sciatic notch to the ischial tuberosity.
