What is the appearance of a urine leak?
Radioactive urine is detected outside the collecting system or bladder; an area of decreased activity (e.g., urinoma) fills with activity on delayed images.
Ideally, the patient's Foley catheter should be clamped for study. (Always consult the transplant surgeon before clamping a patient's catheter in the period immediately post transplant.)
Late images at approximately 2 hours post injection should always be obtained.
